Chris here. Some of you will know me as The Arcade Vaults guy, a title I'll be happy to one day put on my CV as my career of choice.

I've been doing this part time for a couple of years now but there's always been a final goal, a target to reach, a place to aim for - it's not just a hobby business!

If you've come to any of our previous events and chatted to me or any of our brilliant team members, or visited us last summer in our month-long pop-up you may have heard rumours about my plans for The Arcade Vaults. Well they're all true - I am working on getting a permanent venue up and running! And we're very close to it happening. And no, this is not one of those empty promises and far away dreams.

We have a venue. We have paperwork. I'm just sorting out the details and then we'll be ready to make a proper announcement about opening dates and all the exciting things the new place will mean for us, you and the scene in Cardiff. Because we're not just doing a retro gaming arcade - we're creating a community space for anyone who loves videogames. There will be:

• An arcade for you to play all the amazing games old and new (much like the pop-up!)
• A co-working space for anyone in the industry to come and work and create
• A café/bar with an evening license (to be confirmed!) for anyone who likes a drink with their games
• A flexible hire space for all those people who have crazy (or just regular) events they want to run

In the near-term you'll also see an updated brand and website from us and a lot more original content including videos! We won't stop running our events in various venues around Cardiff and South Wales, although we can't promise that there'll be loads of them going on because we do have to rest our poor weary team :)

So until we're ready to go, hit us up with your ideas and thoughts - we're going to run a mini focus group for the development community to talk about the co-working space this September!
